Heir Search Companies
There is a difference between a unclaimed
assets company and an heir
search company.
Typically an heir search company
is a professional company that will do extensive research in finding
heirs or helping heirs find lost inheritence. Their fees are usually
a percentage of the find. If you need to use a service this might
be the way to go. On the other hand many unclaimed
assets companies will run a list of names in any
state and then send postcards or call you and tell you that you
may have some money or property that can be claimed. They will usually
want you to send them a small amount of cash ($20-$50) and they
send you enough information to verify the claim. There are some
unclaimed assets company
that actually do know of funds and they tend to work for a percentage
of the amount they found. But either way please be sure to check
with your state government office (see the states sirectory included
in this ebook) before you sign any agreement!
Between the websites and the state contact information in this book
you should be able to track down as much information as any unclaimed
assets company so it would not be wise to spend your
money on this type of company until you have used the resources
we have pointed you to in this ebook to try to find the assets yourself.
